Automotive Glass Repair Operation Process

1. Surface cleaning

Spray an appropriate amount of glass cleaner on the damaged area and around the glass, and wipe it from the center of the damage to the outer circumference with a cleaning cloth to ensure that impurities such as oil, dust, etc. are completely removed. For stubborn stains, spray the cleaner repeatedly and wipe gently. Be careful not to use excessive force to avoid expanding the damage.
Rinse the glass surface with clean water to remove the detergent residue, and then wipe it with a clean towel to ensure that the glass surface is dry and clean, ready for the subsequent repair steps.

2. Determine the repair position and installation tools

Attach the positioning sticker to the damaged part of the glass, and align the center of the positioning sticker with the center of the damage accurately. The small hole of the positioning sticker is used to guide the installation of the curing bridge and the syringe to ensure that the repair tool acts accurately on the damaged part.
Install the curing bridge on the positioning sticker, and adjust the angle and position of the curing bridge to make it fit tightly on the glass surface, and align the glue outlet with the center of the damage. Use a fixing clip or tape to fix the curing bridge firmly to prevent displacement during the repair process.

 

3. Inject the repair resin

Suck the repair resin into the syringe, and make sure there are no bubbles left in the syringe. Install the syringe on the curing bridge so that it is tightly connected to the glue outlet of the curing bridge.
Slowly push the syringe piston to inject the repair resin into the damaged part of the glass at a uniform speed. During the injection process, the damaged area needs to be closely observed to ensure that the resin fully fills the cracks or damaged parts. For deeper or longer cracks, it may be necessary to inject the resin in multiple times and wait for a while for the resin to fully penetrate. Stop injecting when you see that the damaged area is completely filled with resin and a small amount of resin overflows from the surface.

4. Curing treatment

Remove the syringe and leave the curing bridge on the glass surface. Use a UV lamp (wavelength is generally 365-400 nanometers) to irradiate and cure the repair area. Place the UV lamp 10-15 cm away from the glass surface and keep it irradiated vertically. The irradiation time is determined according to the instructions of the repair resin, generally 5-10 minutes. During the irradiation process, the resin will gradually cure to form a solid repair layer.
After curing, carefully remove the curing bridge and positioning stickers. Use a blade or a special scraper to gently scrape off the excess resin remaining on the glass surface to make the surface of the repair area smooth and flush with the surrounding glass.

Car headlight repair operation process

1. Surface cleaning

Use detergent to thoroughly clean the surface of the headlight, and gently wipe it with a clean soft cloth or sponge to remove dust, oil, insect stains, etc. For stubborn stains, you can increase the amount of detergent or gently scrub it with a soft brush.
Rinse the headlight with clean water to ensure that the detergent and stains are completely removed, and then wipe the water with a clean towel.

2. Sanding

Use masking tape to tightly stick the body parts around the headlight to ensure that the edges are neat to prevent scratches on the paint during sanding.
Choose 800-grit sandpaper, cut the sandpaper into appropriate sizes, soak it in clean water for 15-20 minutes, so that it can fully absorb water and soften, so as to reduce damage to the surface of the headlight during sanding.
Hold the sandpaper and sand the surface of the headlight with uniform force and in the same direction, and the sanding range covers the entire area to be repaired. Keep observing the surface during sanding until the deep scratches and severe oxide layers are basically removed and the surface becomes relatively flat. Keep the sandpaper moist and dip it in water to prevent the sandpaper from drying and overheating and damaging the headlights.
Replace the 1000-grit sandpaper and repeat the above sanding steps to further refine the surface and make the sanding marks lighter. The sanding force should be moderate at this stage to avoid excessive sanding that will cause the headlights to become thinner.
Use 1500-grit and 2000-grit sandpaper for fine sanding in turn. Each time the sandpaper is changed, the sanding direction is 90 degrees to the previous one to ensure full coverage and uniform flatness. Finally, the surface of the headlight is as smooth as a mirror without obvious sanding marks.face.

3. Apply the repair liquid

Use a clean soft cloth to wipe the surface of the headlight again to remove the fine debris produced by sanding and ensure the surface is clean.
Shake the headlight repair liquid thoroughly and apply an appropriate amount of repair liquid evenly on the surface of the headlight. You can use special application tools, such as sponge smear blocks or spray guns (the pressure and liquid output of the spray gun need to be adjusted in advance) to ensure that the repair liquid is evenly applied without omissions and accumulation. The thickness of the coating should be controlled at 0.2-0.3 mm. If it is too thin, it may not be effectively repaired. If it is too thick, it will affect the curing effect and surface flatness.
After the coating is completed, use a hair dryer or hot air gun, keep a distance of 15-20 cm, and blow the surface of the headlight with 40-50 degrees Celsius hot air evenly to accelerate the drying and curing of the repair liquid. Keep moving the hair dryer or hot air gun during the drying process to avoid local overheating. In general, the drying time is about 5-10 minutes. The specific time is adjusted according to the instructions of the repair liquid and the actual situation until the repair liquid is completely cured and a hard and transparent protective film is formed on the surface.
